Setup Happy Hour Items
There are two ways to set up Happy Hour items:
- Promotion
- Surcharges
01. Setting Up Happy Hour Using PromotionsStep 1: After signing into your POS system, navigate to
Content Management.
Step 2: Under the
Restaurant section:
- Click on Promotion, then go to the Promotion Group tab.
- Click the "+ Add New" button at the top-right corner of the screen.
- Give your Promotion Group a name, such as "Happy Hour" then click “Save” to successfully create a new Promotion Group.
Step 3: Once the
Promotion Group is created, switch to the
Promotion tab:
- Click the "+ Add New" button at the top-right corner of the screen.
- Fill in the details for your promotion:
- Name: Happy Hour Items
- Short Name: Happy Hour
- Description: Provide a detailed description of the promotion.
- Code Group: Select the previously created Promotion Group, e.g., "Happy Hour."
- Discount Code: Choose default (Auto Apply) or manually enter a code.
- Conditions of Application: Click “+ Add”, then select All Cases.
- Application Time: Click “+ Add” to set the time period for the promotion. For example, select the weekend (Saturday and Sunday) from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
- Exchanges: Optional—define if exchanges apply.
- Usage Limit: Click “+ Add”, and set any usage limits if applicable (e.g., weekends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM).
- Discount Rules: Click "+ Add" and choose a rule based on your program. For instance, "Buy 2 steak dishes, get 1 soft drink free."
Step 4: After completing all the details for the new promotion, click "
Save". Your new promotion will now appear on the main
Promotions page.
How to Apply
- Navigate to the POS screen where you’ve set up the promotion named Happy Hour Items (e.g., Steak).
- Click the “Promotion” button.
- A list of available promotions will appear:
- Select the promotion named Happy Hour Items, or
- Enter the promotion code for Happy Hour Items manually in the textbox (if you created a custom promotion code).
- Click “Close” to apply the promotion to the order.
Once the promotion is successfully added:
- Go to the Promotion section in the order, and
- Select the item(s) from the list that were included in the promotion settings.
02. SurchargesStep 1: After signing in to your POS system, navigate to
Content Management.
Step 2: Under the Restaurant section, locate and click on “
Surcharges”, then select the “
+ Add New” button in the top-right corner of the screen.
Step 3: Fill in the surcharge details as follows:
- Title: Enter the name of the surcharge, e.g., “Happy Hour Items.”
- Description: Provide a detailed description of this surcharge.
- Conditions of Application:
- Click the “+ Add” button.
- Select “All cases” (or specify conditions if applicable).
- Application Time:
- Click the “+ Add” button.
- Set the desired schedule. For example, select Saturday and Sunday from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
- Types of Charges:
- Click the “+ Add” button.
- Choose the type of surcharge you want to apply. For instance:
- Price adjustment: Reduce $1 for specific items, such as Chicken Wings.
⇒ Once all the details are complete, click the “
Save” button to finalize. → Your newly created surcharge will now appear on the main
Surcharges page.
Scheduled Time Discount: During the specified hours, the price of an item originally listed at
$8.95 will now be
$7.95.
Outside Scheduled Time: The item will revert to its regular price of
$8.95, with no discount applied.
